Fatal MVC North of Laurel
July 30, 2016
A man was killed and a woman in his car was seriously burned after their car was struck by a pick-up truck early this morning near Laurel.

The crash was reported around 1:40 a.m. today, Saturday, on Sussex Highway (U.S. Route 13) in the area of Boyce Road. After a pick-up collided with a car, the car was thrown into the woods where it caught fire.

The male occupant of the car has been pronounced dead at the scene. A female, who was able to escape from the burning car, has been flown to a burn center with serious injuries.

Two occupants in the pick-up truck have been taken to the hospital by ambulance with less serious injuries. This crash is under investigation by the state police crash team. They will determine if alcohol was a factor in this accident.
